Elon is the owner of 5+ companies, SpaceX, Tesla, SolarCity, The Boring Company, Neuro link, Hyperloop, OpenAI. His previous companies include Paypal and X.com.
On being asked how does he do all that he humbly said "I read a lot and meet people".
He mentioned that 'Business' is just 2% of his time. 98% of his time goes into Engineering works. He spends about 80-100 hours every week. That’s crazy. High level of will power and self-drive.
One asked for 'tips on becoming an Entrepreneur' by College students visiting Tesla Factory. He replied, "Don’t do it." He says business is like eating glass and staring down the abyss. Starting a company requires a high level of pain tolerance. CEOs have to deal with the worst problems in the company that nobody else can solve. All problems funnel down to the CEO. You don’t get to choose what type of work you want to or don’t want to do. You don't have a clue about the future it's like staring into the darkness of space.
He goes all-in man. Something like Walt Disney. With the fund, he got after PayPal, Instead of investing in safe places like Real Estate or equity he spends half of his wealth on SpaceX and Tesla. He would have not gone far with the other investments, Now people predict that He will be the world's first trillionaire. After the 3 Rocket failure, he had to put his remaining amount on the fourth rocket. If it failed the company had gone bankrupt. It succeeded, Now they have contracts with governments from all over the world's biggest contractor being NASA. He launched one of his Tesla models past Mars. His major objective behind building SpaceX is to Send Humans to Mars and Create Human settlement there.
Tesla Cars are the best in the world, even better than the conventional cars of established brands. He started with top-end models first. Now, slowly he is working towards more affordable cars. Tesla Truck is fucking awesome. It's made of the same metal used in his Starship/rockets. It's just a cage no poles or anything inside. It is bulletproof. It looks so futuristic it's almost like a car for Mars.
He has a master's in Economics and Physics by the way. He dropped out of his Ph.D. to ride the Internet wave, He didn’t want to see it passing by. for 2 years he survived on Cheap noodles, working with his bro. his company name was x.com, a Yellow book online with directions, and online payment options. Then he got Paypal as rivels in the payment gateway, They both fought tremendously. Then later merged, later sold it for cash. He got millions. His strategy of getting people on his platform was, giving people 20$ to each one who joined the platform and 20$ again for making a friend join a platform. In a month he got 75000 users!
He doesn't do it for money, profit is secondary. The ultimate objective is his goal. He said profit is important it means "people are willing to give you more money than you have already spent or invested" that’s a nice thing. He uses physic's first principal approach to solving problems. That means going to the most fundamental of the elements. His basic objective of SpaceX is reusable Rockets! He makes the cheapest Rockets by purchasing the most basic components directly from the manufacturer, and chips that are easily available and use common languages that are most widely used like C++ for programming. NASA on the other hand has to spend the top Cost for doing the exact opposite.
Tesla is a Public company and SpaceX is Private.
He set up his factories in the USA instead of going to China for Cheap Labours. He wanted quality Engineers from the USA also it was easy for him to keep control of all activities due to their proxy to his headquarters.
He has many kids, the name of the latest one is "X Æ A-12" sounds like a password right. He has a different perspective on education. His kids don’t go to ordinary schools, they are taught in Elson's planned curriculum.
My most awesome fact is that I share my Birthday with Elon Musk! That’s crazy I couldn't believe it for the first time. When I was a child, there were birth dates written of WWE on the trump cards, I couldn't find anyone matching mine. Nonother famous persons would match.
The qualities I love about him is being Spontaneous and having a Plan as well. His goals are out of self-interest and not by comparing it to others. He is not affected by what the media or people have talked about him. He reads and consumes a lot of information. From books as well as people. His Drive and Attention span are amazing. He is not depressed or he doesn't seem to worry. The way he manages his low time is something to learn.
